This is a handmade bolt action Ballpoint Pen & .7mm Lead Pencil Set made by Placid Crafts. The Hardware on this set is Antique Brass. The bolt action works as a lead advance on the pencil and the advance and retract on the pen. This set is in a Rifle Case and it makes it a real eye catcher. The pen and pencil are both 5-3/8" long. I would consider this a standard diameter set. The camo bodies adds to the theme of this set.  The standard Fisher “SPR Series” Refills were developed for NASA and have been used on EVERY Space Shuttle mission both American and Russian. They are hermetically sealed with a specially formulated thixotropic ink and pressurized to about 35 PSI. They are the only refills that will write at any angle because they do not rely on gravity.

About Placid Crafts:

Placid crafts specializes in handmade pens both conventional handmade and their signature metal series pens. These are made on a metal lathe form solid metal round stock blanks; these are made from Rebar, Aluminum, Brass, and Copper. These are drilled out to 3/8” and a brass tube glued in to mount the hardware to. The Rebar is lightly cleaned on a wire wheel and sprayed with a clear coat to protect the steel from rusting. The other metal pens are turned to the proper size and the sanded for a smooth surface. These pen bodies are not sealed or coated. They will patina as each type of metal will. They will get darker as they age and the patina gives them the antique look that is so popular right now.
