This is a very good quality chrome automatic electric aerial, power antenna supplied by Hirschmann of Germany. It is a Hirschmann HIT AUTA 2050, part number 602433001, 602433-001.

Hirschmann supplied this type of mid-range aerial to BMW, Ford, Peugeot as original aerial in the 1970's, 1980’s and 1990’s.

Although it is not Hirschmann’s premium aerial (BMW, Mercedes and Jaguar approved AUTA 6000 series which ceased production in 2015) it is made to Hirschmann’s high standards and is superior to copies which are now widely available from China but which have inferior specification and poorer quality chrome plating.

This aerial is ideal for early BMW saloon, coupe and convertible models in both petrol and diesel versions:

BMW 3 series, E21 and E30: 315, 316, 318, 320, 323, 324, 325 M3.

BMW 6 series E9, 2800, 3.0 and E24 628, 633, 635

BMW 5 series E12, E28: 518, 520, 525, 530, 535, M5 

BMW 7 series E23, E32 725, 728,730, 733, 735, 745  

to replace Original Equipment (OE) aerials, poor quality after-market replacement aerials, or to upgrade from a manual aerial.

Please note on some early BMW aerials antenna there will be a separate electro-mechanical external relay. This new aerial has an inbuilt micro-processor control so the original relay will need to be isolated or removed.
