Authentic stock certificate of Atlantic Refining(ARCO) issued in the 1960's/1970's. This is an original certificate, not a copy or reproduction.  Atlantic Richfield Company (ARCO) is an American oil company with operations in the United States as well as in Indonesia, the North Sea, and the South China Sea. It has more than 1,300 gas stations in the western part of the United States. ARCO was originally formed by the merger of East Coast-based Atlantic Refining and California-based Richfield Oil Corporation in 1966. A subsequent merger in 1969 brought in Sinclair Oil Corporation. It became a subsidiary of UK-based British Petroleum (BP) in 2000 through its BP West Coast Products LLC (BPWCP) affiliate. The stock has anttractive vignette depicting an allegorical figure with oil wells and refineries in the background. I have purple(pictured), orange, green and red- they look the same except for the color and number of shares on the certificate and will be picked at random unless a preference is indicated.  The certificate is in excellent condition- no folds, tears or staining.  The certificate is punch cancelled and accordingly its only value is that of a collectible. Certificate measures about 8 x 12 and has an ornate purple border. This certificate looks great framed and is much nicer in person than the scan indicates. Please review my feedback ratings and bid with confidence. This will make a nice addition to your collection or a terrific historical gift for someone special. Stock certificate collecting is becoming a hot collectible due to the reduced use of certificates with the advent of electronic trading and for their historical significance.
