This is a brand new replacement aerial antenna mast for Ford Escort Convertible Cabriolet models that had a Ford Electric aerial fitted. It has 5 chrome telescopic sections and chrome tip, a fitted length of 92 cm (36 inches), and is supplied with the metal contact spring/retaining ferule and integral toothed nylon drive cable. The bottom telescopic section and tip are 9 mm diameter.

This mast is suitable for many early squarer shaped MK 3, Mk 4 based Escort Convertible models built 1983 to June, 1990, and some of the later MK5 & Mk 6 models manufactured from around  1990 which retain the factory fitted Ford electric aerial.  This mast is equivalent to Ford part number A85SX 18A827 AA, 5013376 (Rod Automatic Radio Aerial, that fits in Ford Aerials A90SX18828BA and V91AB18828BA.

Please note this mast is not suitable for those early Ford models that have a smooth drive cable (without teeth) or those that have a separate drive cable which screws onto the top section.

If your mast is broken, not fully retracting, sticking, bent has stripped teeth, noisy or suffering poor radio reception this is probably what you need. Fitting instructions are supplied and it can normally be fitted in a few minutes from outside the car without dismantling the aerial or trim, by removing the aerial top nut.

This mast replaces the aerial/mast fitted as original equipment from the factory. On older vehicles, please compare the photograph and description to the aerial mast on your vehicle, to ensure the aerial has not already been replaced with an after-market aerial.
