There is no need to describe what Lemmy Kilmister and the gang did: They invented speed metal, that’s what. Thumping drums, guitars whose buzz is only surpassed by their speed, yet there are real hooks! And great ballads too. The 1993 album “Bastards” has often been hailed as one of the band’s greatest. Tracks like “Burner” or “Death or Glory” are pure speed-punk, while heartwrenching ballads like “Don’t let Daddy kiss me” show the serious side of Motörhead. A great catchy cover of “Jumpin’ Jack Flash” rounds out one great must-have album!
