Alfred F. Hargrove. A Brief Description of Places of Public Interest in the County of York within twenty-six miles of the city.  Embellished with upwards of forty wood-engravings, and a correct and well-executed map of the country. (York, Hargrove's Library, 1843).

12mo. 19.5 x 11.5 cms. Folding map frontispiece, wood-engraved title page, 2 leaves, 244 pages with wood-engraved illustrations, 2 leaves of adverts, final page advertising the terms of Hargrove's Public Subscription Library and Reading Room, No. 9 Coneystreet, York.

Uncommon title, this covers many of the major sights of Yorkshire, Castle Howard, Fountains Abbey, and towns such as Harrogate and Ripon.
Sadly the decorative folding map is torn along one crease and with another tear from inner margin.
