This listing is for an Early Japanese Meiji Period Blue & White Ceramic Porcelain Charger.

The Charger measures 15 3/8 inches widest body diameter and 1 13 /16th inches height.

Depicting mountains, tree landscape detail, hand painted in great detail.

All spots with red clay exposed are original and not chips. ( Glaze miss ) .

In excellent antique condition with a pin size shatter mark / chip extending to a hairline, 1 inch in length. ( please see specific images )

A couple of other clay stress hair lines about the same length starting at rim , which are more like crazing than hairline.

Impressed marks under glaze as shown.

Last image is of a book that a kind patron provided . I still do not know who the maker is but the notation for two marks is Meiji 41 & Maiji 42 and "number of employees and apprentices" , and second line I have not deciphered. Mark is also shown upside down in images but is correctly displayed in the last image off marks in the book.

SO it is from Meiji Period ( 1868 -1912 )

If you know the maker or mark, please let me know.
