British LRDG Ford Pilot 15cwt General Service Truck

New, sealed and unbuilt.

The Ford Pilot was a 15cwt Ford truck modified from the 1940 Ford 01 Pick Up Truck. With it's distinctive 'V' grille the truck was modified with alternative rear mudguards allowing easier access to tyres and swan neck machine gun mounts. Early versions had doors but later ones had these removed. A superstructure of wood was build round the truck bed allowing kit and stowage bins to be attached. Usual armament was the Vickers .303 machine gun, a Lewis Gun and the Boys Anti Tank rifle.

This version depicts a standard general service 15cwt truck.

A pretty unusual truck and not widely available as a plastic injection kit.

Metal cast kit.

Whether for wargaming or just building for display this brand new kit is a beauty. Not to be missed.
