This is a Black Apple iPod Classic (Video) 5.5 Generation 80gb. 

This iPod has been refurbished. The inside of the iPod has been completely rebuilt and tested. Everything is functioning great. I just replaced the battery, it gets about 16-20 hours battery life (listening to music). The LCD screen is fully functional, no dead spots. The hard drive has been fully scanned and is in great shape. 

The outer casing (front panel, back panel, and clickwheel) are original and will show some average wear. Overall I would rate the outer cosmetics a "B" grade. You can tell they have been used. But they have not been abused, there will NOT be any major damage, dents, gouges, cracks, or personal engravings. Any dirt/stickers/old cases have been removed, the iPods are nice and clean. The pictures show a good example of the condition you should expect to receive. Keep in mind it is a stock photo, so serial number and exact condition will vary slightly.

• 5th and 5.5 Generation iPods both use the Wolfson WM8758 DAC chip. These devices are desired by audiophiles due to their nice sound quality. Apple switched to cheaper Cirrus DAC chips for the newer model iPods, they do not sound quite the same. Many people prefer the sound quality of these older models compared to the new ones. 

• The 5.5 (or "enhanced 5th") generation adds the "Search" function to browse your music, an option that is not available on the earlier 5th generation models. This is not just a software update, the internal hardware in these is slightly different than on the early 5th generation models. If you want the search function you need to get the 5.5. This specific iPod for sale is a 5.5 gen iPod, so it does come with the search function.
