Jean Marie Leclair was one of the most important violinist and composers of his time and a pioneer of a new modern musical tradition in France after the death of Louis XIV, Without the cultural monopoly by the royal court the French composers were open for international musical influences. On this CD the famous Camerata Köln offers a powerful picture of Leclair's moble and expressive chamber music.
