Neem based remedies have brought relief from the irritating symptoms of many common ailments such as itchy skin and head lice.

Neem oil is rich in fatty acids and glycerides and, together with its healing properties, provides an excellent natural moisturizing base for skin care formulations such as soaps, shampoos and skin preparations enabling many people to enjoy relief with products which avoid the use of prescription medicines and chemical treatments.

Neem oil contains Vitamin E and many essential amino acids which help restore moisture and elasticity to the skin while it disinfects and heals.

Neem oil can be added to your shampoo/conditioner, body lotion, shower gel or massage oil at the rate of 1 to 20ml to 100ml of product.

Neem oil is very suitable for soap making , recommended use is 5 to 10% in soaps.

The saponification value is a high 199.

Neem oil is a natural vegetable oil and is very bitter, dark brown to honey colour and has a strong garlic/sulphur odour. The odour can be masked with the addition of essential oils.

Treating head lice, neem oil can be mixed with 50% conditioner and massaged into hair and scalp, after 5 minutes, wash hair with shampoo, apply conditioner and use a nit comb to remove dead lice and nits. 

Prefer using your own shampoo and conditioner with added neem oil.

To do this, add 5ml – 50ml of neem oil to conditioner and apply to hair and scalp. Leave in for 5 to 10 min then shampoo, Use your conditioner and a comb to remove the dead lice and nits.

Alternatively, make a prevention spray by mixing 5 ml of neem oil to 500ml of warm  soapy water, add some fragrance to cover the neem odour

Neem seed oil can solidify at low temperatures. If this happens, immerse container in warm to hot water.

For the Garden 

Enviro Neem oil can be used as a soil drench at a rate of around 5 to 10 ml per 1 litre of soapy water.

This will be absorbed by the plants to become a systemic incorporated into their structure.

Neem oil is also used as a foliar spray at a rate of  5ml per litre of water.
