You are admiring a longtime favorite of mine & Murex collectors worldwide, a Pterynotus miyokoae (Kosuge, 1979) measuring quite large at 63.8mm and graded F++/Gem...absolutely a breathtaking form with beautiful, flared varices & an outstanding color pattern is displayed on this amazing, super deep H2O specimen.  This beauty was collected in tangle nets at 100-200m off Balut Island, Philippines.  An amazing Muricidae species, once considered very rare & although it is more widely available today...it is still considered a treasure in any collection.  Thank you for visiting our store this afternoon...and an excellent choice, too.

***Special Note:  I have heard that this species is no longer legally being collected in the Philippines which means supplies will be dwindling & it will become quite rare again.
