Tibetans have a love for gold that stretches back to ancient times. This love is reflected in their workmanship in gold, which was praised as long ago as the Tang period in Chinese chronicles and which, therefore, may have been as intrinsic to them as it was to the Scythians in Central Asia.
HERE IS A STORY I FOUND ABOUT THE ORIGIN OF THE STORY OF THE GOLD BUDDHA.
You see each of us has a Golden Buddha within us. I believe that we are all born "golden." When we were children, we all had dreams. We all believed in fairness. We didn't understand or place judgment on others for how they looked, what they imagined, or where they lived. As we grow up though and become exposed to the realities of our environments, the opinions and influences of the adults in our worlds, and experience hurt for expressing beliefs and emotions, we start to protect ourselves. Yes, there is neuroscience behind this. The gist of it is that over time we cover up what's "golden" about us. Rather than show it and risk it being stolen or damaged, we hide it in order to survive.Every time we are judged or criticized, we plaster our soul just a little bit more. Every time, we feel emotional pain from another person, we add another layer of protection. Every time we doubt our abilities, reputations, our worth, we pile on another layer of mud.
There's a happy ending though! The Golden Buddha was rediscovered. It took force to move it, and that force caused a crack. A crack that allowed the gold to shine through. At some point in our lives, we find that thing to "move" us. That moment where we say don't count me out just yet, there's value in me!
THIS HAS MATCHING GOLDEN SHADOW BEADS ON THE STRAND.
I hand made this, strung on the best 49 strand stainless steel cable with a Pearl Colored nylon coating on it. I use Sterling Silver crimp beads.
Size is as follows: From top bead to bottom of Buddha is 5.25", total length is about 7" including the small loop to hang it with.
I will provide you with a length of ribbon so you can easily hang it from a sunny window or your car rear view mirror, it will create rainbows when the sun hits it.
