Fine large 19th Century woodland landscape with figures, a dog and sheep, oil on canvas. Excellent quality view of the woodland as the dogs drinks from the stream at the woman and her children accompany the sheep along the country path. Beautiful natural tones, particularly the greens and blues from the palette with neat figural painting. Sold 20 years ago at Tennants Fine Art sale for $5,000. Antique gilt frame, signed and dated 1858.
