Here we have one vintage Girl Scout Cook badge in new, unused condition. This badge design was around for a long time; it was first introduced in 1938 and was available until it was discontinued entirely in 1980. This version with silver green fabric, unfinished edges and WHITE backstitching was produced only in **1947**.
**A bit more information about this special 1947 badge: Silver-green badges were produced between 1938 and 1947. Until Spring of 1946, they had black backstitching. In 1947 the manufacturers changed to a white thread in the back causing a new category of Silver Green badges that lasted only ONE year. Some collector's call this a "halo." In 1948 the fabric was changed, so this badge is a special one-year item - hard to find!
This price is for ONE badge.
I also have a large selection of badges from this same era listed in my store. Click here to check them out!
