RAW BRASS & ALUMINUM / NOT POLISHED / NO FINISH / NO LACQUER

NO PROTECTION / PATINA WILL PROGRESS

THE UNPROTECTED FINISH PATINAS AS IT AGES.

Patina is a Progressive Process, Not a Finish... THE FINISH IS RAW ........it will not stay shiny as it comes unless you clean it from time to time. if you get more patina than you like simply clean the pen with some Never Dull and start over. This is not sold as a patina pen. The finish is raw and Patina is a process that WILL happen to this pen. We have buyers that are disappointed if the pen comes like new (less patina) because they like the patina, other buyers are disappointed if the pen comes with more patina than pictured. Yet others say they like the way it came but just keeps getting darker..... Yes, it is a process. Personally I love the patina.

About Placid Crafts:

Placid crafts specializes in handmade pens both conventional handmade and their signature metal series pens. These are made on a metal lathe form solid metal round stock blanks; these are made from Rebar, Aluminum, Brass, and Copper. These are drilled out to 3/8” and a brass tube glued in to mount the hardware to. The Rebar is lightly cleaned on a wire wheel and sprayed with a clear coat to protect the steel from rusting. The other metal pens are turned to the proper size and the sanded for a smooth surface. These pen bodies are not sealed or coated. They will patina as each type of metal will. They will get darker as they age and the patina gives them the antique look that is so popular right now.
