USB Connection: GROM-USB3 car stereo adapter connects your USB 2.0 device such as flash drive, external hard drive or mass storage device to the stock stereo in your car. You can control the playback through your car stereo or steering wheel controls.
Android in-car integration: Android Phone play, control and charge. If you have an Android Phone or Tablet (including but not limited to Samsung Galaxy or Note line, HTC One, Google Nexus and others) you can integrate it to your car stereo. Play the music, control it via car stereo or steering wheel buttons, and charge while in car - all with the standard MicroUSB to USB cable. There are no extra cables required. TECH NOTE:
It has come to my attention that there is some discrepancy in the supported vehicles.
On some 1999 7 series this kit may or may not be compatible.
Be aware that I am just a reseller of product and do not have a car stereo of every model, manufacturer, or type to test these on, I go by what the manufacturer states what is supported. Supported vehicles that are on my listings are direct copy and paste from the manufacturers website.

I purchased this item from you after contacting GROM and verifying the fit. My 1998 BMW 740i has DSP & CD Changer & No NAV as you note in the description. It turns out that although GROM & you say my car is compatible, it appears this is wrong. I've been working with GROM for the last few days determining the issue. It turns out that an I-Bus CD Changer connection is REQUIRED for their product. This was not available in 7-series until the 99 model year as earlier models use the older M-Bus CD Changer. The EASIEST way to tell is to look at the 6 CD Changer door. If it says BMW 6 CD Changer PI then it is compatible. If it says BMW 6 CD Changer P then it is NOT compatible. If there is no CD Changer installed, then look for the connectors in the trunk floor by the wheel well - if it's a round 14-Pin DIN its NOT compatible, if there's the 3 pin & 6 pin connectors, then it is compatible.
