You are the proud owner of a lovely McIntosh 2100 or 2105 You love the look of it and the sound of it, but you know that it is old and that it doesn’t give you what used to, or what it could. Or perhaps it is altogether broken and you don’t have any idea what it takes to make it go and go well. You took it to a local shop and you got the blank stare so you know you need somebody to look at your beloved stereo who actually knows what it is. You are in luck. That is exactly what this listing is all about.

If the baby doesn’t play at all, or if you would like a complete evaluation with recommendations before you commit, then this is the listing for you. Purchase this listing and skip to the bottom where I tell you how to pack it. Your purchase will show up in my inbox, I will book you into my in house database, and will send you a receipt and an instruction sheet with my shipping address…….essentially everything you need to know to get it headed my way. Once it gets here, I will check it out and get back to you with its life story and will tell you what your options are, what the cost is, and answer any questions you may have. Once you have approved, it goes into the line for completion.

If you would like to have an idea as to what your baby might need to come back to you in first class condition, I have a listing for Premium Restoration on this model. Its item number is 361463695564. Go and have a look at that. If your unit is somewhat functional, you may wish to just purchase that listing instead. This listing is best when there is some uncertainty about what to expect. If you are not sure what is your best option, then send me a message and I will help you with it. If you have other questions, such as turn around time, feel free to inquire. I have worked on mainline stereo equipment since 1971 so I will be familiar with whatever you have and will be glad to help you with it. Thanks, Bill

Packing Instructions: The MC-2105, being glass faced and very heavy is tricky to ship. It should only be shipped in an original McIntosh carton. These can be obtained from McIntosh in New York. You can find McIntosh Laboratories on the the internet, you will find a number for the parts department.  They will sell you a carton, complete with packing instructions. I recommend that you remove the glass face and keep it at home. The 2100 is much easier to ship, but still should be done carefully. The following standard packing method will do just fine:

STANDARD PACKING

I pack a lot of stuff. I have good success with my packing and encourage you to do it this way. First is the bubble wrap. Use the larger bubble in 24 inch widths. Wrap the unit four times, turning it each time so you get the long way and then the short way. This gives you good overlap. Tape it tightly. It should be like a cocoon. The unit then goes into the inner box, fill voids with additional bubble wrap or peanuts. The inner box goes into the outer box with packing peanuts in between. Be sure to put in enough peanuts so the inner box will not move around in transit. Tape well, insure the package. Ship prepaid to:

Circle Stereo

100 Commons Rd.

Dripping Springs, TX 78620

The standard box size for this item is:

Inner box…………20x20x12

Outer box………..24x24x16

Both boxes should be heavy duty, double corrugated is greatly preferred.

Note that the shipping charge in this listing is $1.00. This is to satisfy ebay listing requirements. Actual return shipping charges will be based on weight and size of the box. If your packing material is damaged or insufficient new packing material will be obtained.
