This sale is for a vintage hardback FIRST EDITION entitled “Far East,” by the famous photographer and stage and costume designer, Cecil Beaton, with a COLOUR frontispiece and numerous vintage photographic illustrations by the author.


 


It was published by B. T. Batsford Ltd., of London, and is the Autumn 1945 FIRST EDITION (stated).


 


Cecil Beaton - Sir Cecil Walter Hardy Beaton (1904–1980) was an English fashion and portrait photographer, stage and costume designer for films and the theatre and an author.


 


This book contains the author’s account of his trip, as official photographer, for the Ministry of Information to India, Burma and China, during the Second World War.

The book is in good internally neat condition for its age, with heavy wear/bumps and is grubby/faded to the original cloth hardback cover, with a little light foxing near the covers. There are NO inscriptions/book-plates and NO other ink or pencil markings in the book. The binding is good with no loose or missing pages.  There is no dust-jacket.
