ANTIQUE GEORGE WASHINGTON LARGE BRONZE PEACE MEDAL Measures 3" across and 3/16" thick. Weighs 8 ounces. With very fine lines running parallel to the edge. The obverse has a dark patina and the reverse is a yellow bronze. The result of the obverse being exposed to the air probably in a velvet case. According to one expert, the oldest of these was minted by the U.S. Mint in 1903. This one looks very old. Made after the Indian Wars were over, it still could have been offered as a gift. The ones from the 1800s were often drilled by Indians to wear around the neck. In VG+ condition with NO scratches, dents etc. Will be shipped in a padded box. (see all 6 pictures)
