Description
Sold individually, each diode comes with a lock nut, 2 flat washers, jumper wire, shrink tubing, and easy to install instructions. All diodes are tested before shipping!
There are a couple of ways you can mount a diode to your KW transformer. My way is easy and clean-looking and does NOT obstruct the shell when you install or remove it. If necessary, simply bend the open hole end of the diode down slightly and you're all set!
Shipping is fast and FREE for 1 or more diodes. International shipping is extra.
I also have 6 and 40 Amp whistle diodes, 2A, 3A, 5A, 7.5A,10A, and 15A "easy-mount" thermal-sealed circuit breakers, TVS diodes to protect your track-side electronics, and "perfect-fit" LED bulbs for your transformer indicator lights! See my other eBay listings. Thanks for looking!

COMPETITION IS GOOD: The facts about buying whistle diodes on eBay for your Lionel pre and post-war toy train transformers.
After servicing, restoring and selling pre-owned Lionel pre and post-war toy train transformers for over 10-years I decided to sell select parts on eBay including whistle diodes, TVS diodes, thermal-sealed circuit breakers and LED bulbs. This got the attention of one of my competitors that has made a niche business for himself with virtually no competition by selling similar parts on eBay for the last 15-years, which prompted him to revise and expand his listings with misleading claims and marketing gimmicks.
The intent of this blog is to educate the consumer with the facts as it pertains to what is sold by me and what is sold by my competitor, so you can make an informed decision when purchasing parts in the future.
Whistle Diodes
My competitor claims Ruttonsha diodes is the best. This is the brand he has been selling for many years and according to him, none of them has ever failed so he considers them the “best in the business”. Ruttonsha diodes are manufactured overseas (India) like many other electrical components sold in the U.S. The diodes I sell I purchase factory-direct from a manufacturer in China which has been in business over 35 years and manufactures high-quality electrical components for some of the leading U.S. brands on the market today. I’m able to sell you my diodes for less because I’ve eliminated the middle-man and brand name mark-up. That doesn’t mean that my diodes are less quality. The bottom line is that I have used and installed the diodes I sell in every transformer that I’ve serviced, restored and sold without a single failure for the past 10-years. Although I don’t know the exact number of transformers I’ve sold, I’m sure it’s over a thousand by now. My competitor likes to imply that his diodes are the “best” and “number 1 in diode service for Lionel transformers” which is simply nothing more than a marketing gimmick. I market my diodes as “high-quality” because to imply that they are the best is misleading when there are other comparable diodes on the market that perform just as well and maybe even better with a proven track record or reliability. In addition, my diodes come with nickel-plated flat washers and a lock-nut. My competitor provides flat washers, a lock washer and a nut. If paying more for a brand name is important to you then Ruttonsha diodes might be your best option. If saving a little on an unbranded diode that performs the exact same if not better then Ruttonsha, and has a proven track record of success, backed by the seller’s commitment to unsurpassed customer service and a LIFTETIME GUARANTEE, then you might want to consider mine.
