FRAMED WATERCOLOR: LIONEL PERAUX (French, b. 1871). Half-length portrait of a young woman. On paper, 11 x 8½" sight." Please email me any questions.  Thank you Loinel Peraux:  he was born in Nantes, November 24, 1871 He was a pupil of the painter Jules Elie Delaunay (1828-1891) artist who devoted in part to history painting ( The Plague in Rome - The Oath of Brutus ) but also Gustave Moreau ( 1826-1898 ) . Found that sensitivity to the story in some works of Lionel Peraux although he also painted many scenes of children playing with animals : dogs , cats, ... His drawings also appear on old postcards: historical figures XVII & XVIII century or scenes of peasant life. He exhibited in Paris , London and New York. It is classified as a genre painter , portraits , watercolor and pastel especially but also an illustrator .
