THIS LOT CONTAINS ONE OF THE 1899 OVERPRINTS  FROM GUAM, SCOTT #12, THE SCARCE $1.00 BLACK PERRY WITH RED OVERPRINT,  IN  FINE UNUSED CONDITION.

All of the stamps from Guam are scarce due to the very limited use of postage, hence they all sell for full catalog value, or even higher.  This stamp is  Scott #12, the Type I $1.00 denomination of the then-current U.S. stamps with red  overprint for use in  Guam.  The lower edge of the stamp contains the guide line which gives the false appearance of a bottom straight edge --  it is fully perforated as can be seen on the photo of the back of the stamp. Also, the stamp is priced without gum. The stamp is free of defects, the color and appearance is fresh and bright. It has a 2016 Scott US Specialized catalog value of $350.00.
