This is VW part # 113 105 231 and I check them for wear then bead blast them and look again. These are original German parts and were used in the 1200cc or 40hp motors. They are used in some of your larger motors because of clearance of the crank, the smaller drive gear becomes desirable with counter weighted cranks or stroked motors.
