Nazareth tourten zwei Jahre ununterbrochen durch Europa.. Der Durchbruch gelang Nazareth 1973 mit dem Album Razamanaz, produziert von Roger Glover von Deep Purple. Im darauffolgenden Jahr kam Loud'n'proud. Es enthält eine Coverversion von Joni Mitchells This Flight Tonight, die sich zum internationalen Charthit entwickelte und in Deutschland Platz 1 der Verkaufsliste erreichte. 1974 erschien, ebenfalls von Roger Glover produziert, Rampant. Die nächsten Jahre waren wohl die produktivsten. Insbesondere die erfolgreiche Rockballade Love Hurts erlangte endlose Chartsplatzierungen und wurde zum Evergreen. 1975 wurde das Album Hair Of The Dog veröffentlicht. Hair Of The Dog, Expect No Mercy und No Mean City gelten als Bestandteil der New Wave of British Heavy Metal, die sich Ende der 70er aus dem traditionellen Hard Rock entwickelte und maßgeblich von Bands wie Judas Priest und Iron Maiden geprägt wurde. Jetzt ist die Band wieder da – und passend dazu die größten Hits live auf DVD (auch als CD erhältlich).

 

THE LEGEND IS BACK ON TOUR! THE HITS OF THE SCOTTISH ROCKBAND NOW LIVE ON DVD The Scottish hard rock quartet Nazareth had a handful of hard rock hits in the late '70s, including the power ballad "Love Hurts." Both Nazareth and 1972's Exercises received favorable attention by British hard rockers, but it was 1973's Razamanaz that moved them into the U.K. Top Ten (both "Broken Down Angel" and "Bad Bad Boy" were hit singles). Loud 'n' Proud and Rampant (both 1974) followed the same formula, yet were slightly less successful. Released the following year, Hair of the Dog established Nazareth as an internationally popular hard rock band. Featuring their revamped version of the Everly Brothers “Love Hurts," the album sold over a million copies in the U.S. Until the end of the '70s, the band continued successfully as a quartet, releasing a series of Top 100 albums. Now Nazareth is back on tour and here are their Greatest Hits
