“Piccadilly Circus Future Development: Proposals for Comprehensive Development by the Planning Consultant Sir William Holford March 1962”

20pp published by London County Council, well illustrated with photographs of the planning models as well as a fold-out ground plan at the end showing the extent of the butchery which thankfully never took place. Holford’s plan was to demolish around three quarters of the buildings in Piccadilly Circus, with the other quarter demolished in future years. The original idea was to improve the traffic flow through the area, however the plan was rejected not for aesthetic reasons, but for the proposal not meeting traffic needs in traffic flow.

Approx. 218x280mm., original thin card covers, minor cover grime, though overall in good condition. An interesting piece of London architectural history.
