Description

Philatelic cover dating to the period when the Polish - Czech boundary in the disputed Teschen region had not been finalized.   While Teschen 2 Post Office was located on the Czech-controlled side of Olza river,  postage due in this case was paid by Polish stamps.   Because of  postage due stamp shortages all over former Austrian Poland,  postmasters were authorized to overprint regular postage stamps.    The overprints used is this case are Cieszyn 2 Type 30 (PORTO with Polish Eagle on top, 13 x 13mm).
