On November 8-9, 2003, the Roberto Clemente Walker All-Star Celebrity weekend took place at the Wyndham El Conquistador Resort, Spa and Golf Course in Puerto Rico.  The event included a Celebrity Gala with over 25 Celebrities including Chi Chi Rodriquez, Don Mattingly, Tony Perez, Juan Marichal, Orlando Cepeda, David Ortiz, Brian Hunter, Orlando Merced, Bill Virdon, Rod Gilbert (NY Rangers) , George Martin (NY Giants), Doc Ellis, John Candelaria, Darrin Jordan (SF 49ers),  Kevin Dobson (From Kojak and Dallas) Mrs. Vera Clemente, Roberto Clemente Jr., Luis Clemente and comedians Joey Vega and Eddie Brill.   A golf tournament was held on Sunday with an award Ceremony help in the afternoon.  Chi Chi Rodriquez was honored at this event with the First annual "International Roberto Clemente Youth Award".   Plans are being made for next year's event to be held again in November in Puerto Rico.  It was a great event and promises to be even better each year!!
