This is a hand carved antique African Yaka tribal people wooden statue of a kneeling maternal female holding an infant on her hip. This Yaka mother and child fertility figure was collected in the Democratic Republic of the Congo and was made by the Yaka people. This Yaka female statute is in pretty good condition with some slight cracks in the wood and does have a hole in the side of the mother's breast farthest from the baby and a darker colored patch of wood under that breast (shown in the last photo). This beautiful Yaka tribal statue would make a fine addition to any African art collection. This Yaka kneeling mother with child statue measures 17 inches tall by 6 inches wide and weighs 2 pounds and 13 ounces.
