External microphone is designed to fit in-dash receivers with built-in Bluetooth which will require the 3.5mm jack microphone input. The microphone will provide better performance in noisy environments. 3.5mm Jack connector covers many  Bluetooth Car stereo models like Alpine, Sony, Kenwood, JVC , Panasonic and others . Please note: 2.5mm is required for Pioneer head units.
