Description

Offered here is an original political cartoon drawing by Bruce Russell.  The subject of drawing is Harry Truman and was likely done about 1950 for the Los Angeles Times.  Drawing is ink on paper board and measures 18 1/2 x 13 3/4 inches (image).  Overall board size is 22 3/4 x 14 3/4 inches.  The drawing is taped to foamcore and encased under clear plastic with an overall size of 24 x 20 inches.  Inscription at top of drawing (probably the caption of the cartoon) reads "Bill of fare deal".

Condition is very good.

BILL OF FARE DEAL - If you don't eat at Harry's, you're selfish

To shed some light on this cartoon, the "Fair Deal" was basically Truman's term agenda and was mostly a continuation of FDR's "New Deal" liberalism but was met with strong opposition by the Conservative controlled Congress.
