What's the Buzz about Sea Moss?

You may have heard Dr. Sebi talk about Sea Moss. This is taken as a supplement by some, used as a thickening agent in cooking by others.

Sea Moss is a superfood like no other! Able to be used in a whole range of ways from cooking to topical application, and just eating the gel straight out of the jar.

There have been more an more people discovering Sea Moss. The important thing is to make sure that this is right for you. With all of the articles you'll find online (including the content in this listing) it is safe to sat that they are not tailored specific medical advice. I'm not a Doctor. You should make sure you get appropriate medical advice before you make any changes to your diet. With that being said, if you are curious about how to prepare your Sea Moss, then we've got a few tips for you!

Preparing your Sea Moss

Approximately 20g to 30g should give you 500ml to 600ml of gel. See photos.

Easy to prepare, you can simply wash any residual sand or salt off the surface of your Sea Moss (there will be a little bit there naturally as this is harvested from the sea, and then sun dried)

Once it has been washed, just soak it in clean water (purified or filtered if you can) until it swells up and becomes soft. This typically takes between 24 and 48 hours.

Once it takes on a lighter, sometimes translucent appearance, place it in a blender with some fresh water.

Allow to blend thoroughly. Add the desired amount of water to get the consistency you want.

The more water that you add to the blender, the runnier it will become. If you want a firm gel, don't add too much water. Your Sea Moss Gel will thicken while resting in the fridge.

Store in the refrigerator after blending. Keep in a clean, sealed jar. This should last for between 2 and 4 weeks.

Help keep the freshness of your Sea Moss by sealing the ziplock bag.

Only use a clean spoon to take the gel out of the jar as you need it.

Add gel straight to smoothies and juices.

To use as a thickening agent add some thick gel (less water used in prep) to salad dressing, pies, raw cakes and more. One of my favorite recipes is a raw Red Velvet cake made with Sea Moss (I'm happy to share that recipe - just ask).

So how popular is Sea Moss?

Here, Lisa Lopes talks about her experiences with Sea Moss. If fact, it was Lisa Lopes who introduced Sea Moss to Dr. Sebi!

He openly explains this in one of the interviews he did about his learning of this amazing seaweed. We hope you enjoy using your Sea Moss!
