WW1 German M15 Tunic

Description

In September 1915, a completely new pattern of tunic called the M15 (or M1915) was released. The "Bluse" was to be used by all units, including cavalry (except the Bayern / Bavarian Army who did not adopt this style until march 1916). The tunic was made with a looser cut than earlier uniforms, which allowed heavier undergarments to be worn as well as giving the wearer greater mobility and comfort.

These heavy wool fabric M15 German Tunics are made to the original design in a slightly more green colour than most other WW1 reproductions and feature the now famous, bottle green collar. Along with 6 buttons to close the tunic, there is a double hook and eyelet fastening system around the neck. Additionally, the collar can also be turned up to reveal a further flap that can be strapped across the neck to keep out those winter winds. The tunic also has 4 x belt hooks and 2 frontal "hip pockets" which are closed via a flap and a button embossed with Prussian crowns. Incidentally, these embossed buttons also appear on the shoulders along with easily replaceable shoulder boards, if you so wish. Internally, there is small, button closure pocket on the right hand side and an open pocket lower down on the left hand side for a first aid kit or dressing.
