improper installation
If
a vehicle is not cleaned properly before the vinyl is installed, the
vinyl will fail prematurely. Proper cleaning includes removal of all
dirt, grime, wax, and other residues from the surface that the vinyl is
to be applied to. Installing vinyl in temperatures of 55 degrees or
less will also cause premature failure. During the colder months it is
imperative that the install be done inside of a heated building, being
sure that the vehicle/trailer has had adequate time to warm up or
use a hair dryer to heat the surface when the surface is still warm
apply sticker once applied to surface still with application tape on
heat the sticker and press/rub the sticker to make sure no bubbles and
as stuck properly leave to cool and then remove application tape .
It is also important to allow the installed vinyl to sit in the heated
environment for 1-2 hours after installation to ensure proper adhesion.
Washing practices
It
is important to take care when washing any vehicle or trailer that has
vinyl lettering or graphics. If you prefer to use automatic car washes,
use the touchless washes. Avoid automatic car washes that uses brushes
or anything that may catch or rub the vinyl off. If you prefer to use a
power washer, take care so as to not “blast” the vinyl off. Try to
hold the wand perpendicular to the vehicle and avoid spraying at an
angle, especially along the edges of the vinyl. During the hot summer
months, avoid washing the vehicle/trailer when the outside temperature
is above 90 degrees. The hotter temperatures will soften the adhesive
on the vinyl making the vinyl more susceptible to lifting/peeling. It
is important to wash your vehicle during the winter months as well. The
chemicals used on the roads to melt ice can damage the vinyl and cause
it to fail. Washing at least once a month will help the longevity of
the vinyl.
To Apply
This
sticker is made out of outdoor sign vinyl and is made to go on a
flattish surface the outside of a car van or shop window (do not apply
to the inside of a window)
the decal / sticker comes in 3 different parts 1 the clear application tape 2 the actual sticker 3 white backing paper.
1.
make sure the surface you are applying this decal / sticker to is clean
and free of wax and grease car shampoo contains wax so wash car with
shampoo then use something to remove the wax (google how to remove car wax )apply heat to surface if too cold then apply sticker (this can cause the sticker not to stick or peel)
2.
place the sticker facing down clear application tape side on a flat
surface peel the white backing paper slowly off the application tape
layer (if you peel too fast you may rip the sticker layer) if any bit of
the sticker stays on the backing paper place it back down and gently
rub the back of the backing paper or the clear tape side (this heat the
glue up) and try peeling off the backing paper at a tighter angle again
slowly if it does the same again repeat again place the backing paper
back down and rub again it may take a few attempts as the application
tape is low tack it the sticker is not suppose to stick to it
permanently once all the sticker is off the backing paper you can now
start applying it to the clean surface of a car van shop window
3.lay
the top of the application tape / sticker onto the surface keeping it
flat as possible use a bank card or hard card squeegee go down the
sticker slowly until you reach the bottom of the sticker hopefully there
will be no bubbles after doing this. now the decal / sticker should be
on the window with the application tape still applied
4.now rub your finger over all the sticker or use a hair dryer (be careful not to burn the sticker)
this heats the glue up and helps it stick to the surface leave to cool
with tape applied once cool now you can peel the application tape of
slowly at a tight angle this should leave the sticker applied to the
window job done
here are some links to some videos to give you a bit more info on how to apply your decals / stickers
