All tile pictured in this catalog has the accompanying statement "Meets Federal Specification SS-T-312 Type IV and the requirements of F.H.A. Flame Spread Rating." This Federal Specification for resilient floor tiles clearly states that Type IV is a vinyl-asbestos tile. From Section 3.1.4 of the specification, "The tile shall be composed of a thermoplastic binder, asbestos fibers, mineral fillers, and pigments."
