Out-of-print, truly RARE hardcover book from Morris Cohn in cooperation with the Certain-teed Products Corporation, Pipe Division, Ambler PA.    

Asbestos References:

This book has two sections on Certain-teed asbestos cement sewer pipe totaling about 60 pages.  These sections provide information and detail about the Certain-teed company and its background, as well as how its pipes were manufactured, transported and installed.  From the background section it states Certain-teed was founded in 1904 and in 1962 acquired the plants and assets of Keasbey & Mattison Company's asbestos-cement pipe business.  It also states that Certain-teed now (as of 1966) manufactures a full line of pressure pipe, non-pressure sewer pipe, building sewer pipe, irrigation pipe, and air duct pipe.  As stated in the book, Certain-teed sewer pipe contains 15%-20% asbestos fibers, 34%-32% silica & 51%-48% cement.

Book Condition:

The book is in GOOD condition!!  The book has moderate wear from use.  The dust cover is missing and previous owner printed their name on the front cover and the letter U on the spine.  There are no locations of writing, underlining or highlighting of the text that I could find from a cursory review.  Binding is intact & square with no loose pages. The pages have some minor browning due to age.   It's still a good used book with plenty of life left in it!!
