1957 SCOUT JAMBOREE IN SUTTON COLDFIELD
The ninth World Scout Jamboree was held in Sutton Coldfield, Warwickshire, in 1957. It celebrated the Golden Jubilee of the scout's founding and also the centenary of the birth of the Scout movement's founder, Lord Baden Powell, in 1857. The Jamboree was officially opened by The Duke of Edinburgh and Prime Minister Harold MacMillan.
The set contains a complete 1957 year set of seven coins, namely: Halfcrown, Florin, English and Scottish Shilling, Sixpence, Threepence and Halfpenny (pennies were not issued dated 1957) plus the official British World Scout Jamboree commemorative set of three postage stamps, 2½, 4d and 1´3.
All of the coins are dated 1957 and they all are in Fine (or better) condition. The stamps are in unused Mint condition as issued.
The item is housed in a display protection case. The set can be removed from the case for framing if so desired.

Scouting has a rich history stretching back to the early years of the 20th century - and an exciting future. Today there are more Scouts, in more countries around the world, than at any stage in the history of Scouting.
The common themes of Scouting’s history are the enthusiasm of young people to participate voluntarily in the exciting activities of Scouting, the support of men and women of goodwill around the world to enable the Scouting programme to happen, and the continuing vision of Scouting’s leaders.
Scouting was founded by Robert Baden-Powell. It all started with an experimental camp in 1907 on
