The books cover is brown cloth boards with brown leather corners and spine. The cover has some light surface shelf ware and some rubbing to the corners. The spine edges have some light rubbing to them and the spine area has some chipping to the leather at the top, otherwise in good condition. The hinges are good but some light play to the front and back inner boards. The endpapers and inner boards have a label to to them. The book is well illustrated throughout with plates and intext drawings, also with frontispiece (see pictures). There are 373 pages including the index. The book has some stamps here and there on the odd plate or page, otherwise the pages are in good condition. The binding is tight and square.
