Also known as the Phantom Queen, The Morrigan is more well-known for her relationship with death and the battlefield. Her association with battle implies that she is an indiscriminate bringer of death. The inevitable cycle of life and death cannot be controlled or evaded. Her presence in this card serves as a reminder of that all important truth.

She is dressed in black as a metaphor for mourning. Around her neck is a necklace depicting a white flower with five petals. The color of this flower symbolizes purity and immortality, while the number five represents the five senses and the infallible nature of change.
