Our new surface pH meter TMT-98109 has a special pH electrode with an extra-flat glass membrane and a diaphragm-mounted diaphragm. The flat membrane is suitable for measurements on surfaces as well as for measurements in liquids.
The TMT-98109 is suitable for measuring surfaces such as skin, dirt, leather, paper, emulsion, scalp and hair tresses, food, etc. but also for measuring the PH value in any liquid, water, oil, lemonade or semi-permanent substances like yogurt, pudding, mustard ......
Due to their small surface flat membranes have a high resistance. The large surface tension makes the membrane glass very sensitive. During the measurement, the flat membrane and the diaphragm should be as level as possible on the sample and if necessary, so that the entire membrane surface is activated, the surface to be examined can be moistened with a minimal amount of liquid. The water used for moistening should have conductivity below 0.15 µS / cm and a pH between 6.8 and 7.2. Ordinary distilled water fulfills this purpose.
