Moonwatch only - Omega Speedmaster 3rd. Ed. - English Guide

Why a Collector's Guide? The Speedmaster is a timeless watch icon that has significantly evolved since its creation in 1957, a fact that sometimes makes it hard to identify certain models, particularly older ones. After several years of research and observation, the authors have created a technical, systematically and attractive book intended to become the reference work for this model.

An Original Approach The major focus of this work concerns the identification of historical Speedmaster models from standard production, in an era when there were often variations in the constituent parts of a watch. Having observed that these numerous evolutions could occur independently of a change in reference number, the authors established an original nomenclature for this entire set of elements. Classifying and describing them represented a fundamental prior step toward providing a comprehensive and detailed presentation of the models.

Originally designed for motor racing crews and engineers, the Omega Speedmaster experienced a very different destiny when NASA selected it in 1965 to accompany the astronauts to conquer the moon. Much thanks to this participation in the space adventure, the Moonwatch is at the forefront of the most famous watches.
After several years of research and observation, the authors present a complete panorama of this mythical watch in a technical, systematic and aesthetic work, whose ambition is to become the reference guide of the Moonwatch.

Fruit of several years of work, this great work of 566 color pages with more than 1000 illustrations is the indisputable reference for the Omega Speedmaster models.
Moonwatch Only lists more than 125 models, covering all Speedmaster production since 1957, including limited and special editions, projects and prototypes.
In addition, it analyzes and codifies more than 250 different components, ranging from calibers to presentation boxes, casebands to bracelets, crowns to glasses ... and even luxury boxes, using an original nomenclature developed by the authors.

This third edition has been enriched with 17 new models, revised information and a new chapter featuring pictures of astronauts and their Speedmasters.
