REISSUED AFTER MORE THAN A DECADE OUT OF STOCK! A true classic from the Tumbao Cuban Classics collection

The group which we present here with the name of TUMBAO ALL-STARS is the direct result of a gathering of mythical names within the panorama of Afro-Cuban music, all of whom have played their parts in the fertile and rich evolution that his music has passed through during the last five decades. With its rhythms it has influenced many other types of music, such as jazz and pop, as well as its fusion into what is now referred to as "salsa", the name coined in New York more than thirty-five years ago to describe almost all Latin music, and which has become a kind of common denominator word used to indentify all rhythms emanating from the Caribbean area. It has taken until the decade of the nineties for Cuba to regain the world's recognition that its rhythms had gained wide acceptance in not-so-distant decades.

All the themes interpreted here have as their cornerstone the creativity of these genuine masters, playing and extemporizing to the rhythms of the mambo, the danzón and the cha-cha-cha. Their skills and accumulated years of experience are revealed in all their plenitude when interpreting authentic Afro-Cuban music.
