Die fünfte Ausgabe der DC Comics™ Serie 60 Jahre Justice League™ ist Green Lantern™ gewidmet. Die Münze wurde von der New Zealand Mint aus einer Unze 99,9% Silber geprägt. Das Motiv zeigt eine Abbildung des grünen Superhelden in kräftigen Farben sowie das Green Lantern™ Logo. Auf der Rückseite sind das Ian-Rank-Broadley-Bildnis Ihrer Majestät Königin Elizabeth II. sowie der Nennwert und das Ausgabejahr zu sehen. Seinen ersten Auftritt hatte Green Lantern™ 1940 im All-Amercian-Comic - Ausgabe #16. Im Gegensatz zu vielen anderen Superhelden, bezieht er seine Kräfte nicht aus einer Mutation oder durch seine außerirdische Herkunft, sondern aus einer hochentwickelten, magischen Technologie in Form eines Rings. Seit 1960 zählt er gemeinsam mit Wonder Woman™, Aquaman™, Flash™, Superman™, Batman™ und Martian Manhunter™ als Gründungsmitglied zur Justice League™ (zu deutsch: Gerechtigkeitsliga). The fifth issue of the DC Comics™ Series 60th Anniversary Justice League™ is dedicated to Green Lantern™. The coin was struck by the New Zealand Mint from one ounce of 99.9% silver. The motive features a powerfully colored image of the green super hero as well as the Green Lantern™ Logo. The reverse shows the Ian Rank-Broadley effigy of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II as well as the denomination and the year of issue. His first appearance was in 1940 in the All-American-Comic - issue '16. Unlike many other superheroes, Green Lantern™ does not derive his strength from a mutation or his extraterrestrial origin, but from a highly developed and magical technology in the form of a ring. As a founding member he belongs to the Justice League™ since 1960. The limited Green Lantern™ silver proof coin is delivered in an acrylic coin case and the original Green Lantern™ packaging. Also included is a certificate of authenticity from the New Zealand Mint.
