Common Heather (Calluna Vulgaris) is also known as ling. The name derives from Greek and Latin - 'Calluna' derives from a Greek word meaning to sweep (the plant was used to make brushes), 'Vulgaris' comes from the Latin word for common.

Young plants are an excellent food source for sheep and wildlife, particularly grouse. As it gets older, ling becomes degenerate and unpalatable. New growth is stimulated through the cutting and burning of heather moorlands, usually on a 15 year rotation cycle. This allows for continuous fresh growth for stock and wildlife.

At the end of July through to late August, the flowers turn the moorlands into a beautiful and vibrant purple landscape.

This is a beautiful variety making lushly leafy cushions and bearing in early spring a profusion of creamy-yellow flowers with an apricot centre. A lovely plant for a shady corner. 6 ins.

Refunds

Returns postage costs are refundable if items are faulty or damaged in the post, once returned to the supplier in original packing.
Postage is not refundable if items are purchased in error, but the item will be refunded if returned to the supplier in original packaging.

I started this business as i found that many people where finding it hard to get hold of some products and that much of the advice given from pet shops and some internet sources is poor to say the least.

Here at Shelled Warriors we take in many tortoises rehomers who have had a bad life or just that their owns could no longer care for them.

We have vast knowledge of most species of tortoises from husbandry to breeding.

We have kept tortoise for over 16 years and have kept and bred some rare species such as pancake, indian star, tunisian, leopard tortoises.

We believe in keeping tortoise as close to wild conditions as possible.

Shipping Information

All orders are dispatched as soon as possible once payment has cleared. For larger items please be aware that a courier may be used, and as such a signature will be required. Where a signature is required, please be aware that you will be also be signing for the condition of the goods. If you are unable to check to ensure the goods are not damaged, please sign that the goods are ‘unchecked’. Failure to do so could invalidate a warrantee claim.

Please allow 1-10 days deliverly on dry items.

All orders must be processed before 8am for same day deliverly (if you choose this option)

Returns Policy

All items apart from consumables (bedding, seeds, supplements etc) come with a full warranty. Before making a return, please contact us to advise us of the situation. Our contact details are listed here. Depending upon what you have ordered, the return address may differ and as such we will need to ensure you return the correct item to the correct location. Please ensure returned items are not used or otherwise in a state not fit for resale. If the item has retail packaging, please wrap the item first to ensure that the packaging is not damaged. If items are returned with damaging packaging a restocking fee may be applied. Returns postage costs are refundable if items are faulty or damaged in the post, once returned to the supplier in original packing.
