The DIGITTRADE RFID Security hard disk RS256 is a secure solution for businesses and private users. It protects sensitive data reliably against unauthorized access and third-party views, whether at home, on the move or in the office.

It has an elegant and robust aluminum casing, which protects it well against mechanical influences and electromagnetic waves. The specially developed anti-shock elements offer additional protection. In addition, this hard disk can remain comfortably in the accompanying leather bag during data processing.

The combination of hardware-based encryption module and RFID access control makes this security hard disk independant of the operating system and can be used flexibly.

The integrated 2.5" SATA hard drive makes this portable data safe small and practical. These are offered in a HDD or SSD version. While a normal HDD-hard disk has many small, mechanical individual parts such as read head, write head, magnetic disk and more, an SSD consists of flash-memory components. They are lighter, faster, more shock-proof and consume significantly less energy.

Encryption

The encryption module integrated in the security housing performs a complete encryption of the hard disk.

Each stored byte and each sector on the data carrier described is encrypted in XTS mode according to 256-bit AES (Advanced Encryption Standard).

In addition, this hard disk encrypts all temporary files and areas that are often ignored by encryption software.

Access control

User authentication works with 256-bit, AES-standard RFID access control.

RFID stands for Radio Frequency Identification. This technology transfers encryption commands to the hard drive. The encrypted hard disk, and thus all data stored on the hard disk, can only be accessed using one of the included RFID keys.

The DIGITTRADE RS256 Security hard disk can be locked or unlocked by simply holding a transponder (RFID key) over the RFID reader built into the hard disk. LEDs signal the activation status of the disk.

Sturdy aluminium case and silicone anti-shock protection

The RS256 external hard disk has an elegant and robust aluminium case which protects it well against mechanical influences and electromagnetic waves.

Specially developed silicone protectors keep the data carrier even safer from vibration and shocks.

Integrated hard drive

The integrated 2.5" SATA hard drive makes this portable data safe small and practical. USB data transfer and power supply and hardware encryption enable this storage medium to be used regardless of the operating system.

Only 2.5" quality hard disks from Samsung or Western Digital are used.

Supported operating systems

This hardware encrypted hard disk is bootable and independent of any operating system. This means that complete operating systems and programs can be stored on these hard drives as well as data.
