Original Early WWI Era German Military Leather Holster for the Hebel Signal Pistol or Flare Gun - Modified - Very Nice Condition - RARE

Up for Auction is an Original WWI Era German Military Leather Holster for the Hebel Signal Pistol or Flare Gun.  The leather is still soft and supple.  There are no cracks or crazing of the leather.  The seams are still intact, no fraying.  The holster has been modified by replacement of the belt loop on the rear.  The flap has been trimmed down from it's original shape and size.  And the pistol grip area has been sewn shut.  These modifications all seem to be old and consistent with the vintage of the holster.  They were probably made to adapt this holster to a different weapon.  The Hebel Flare Pistol will fit in the holster.  The grip will not seat all the way into the holster, due to the grip area being sewn shut, this is also preventing the flap from fully closing.  Flare gun holsters from this time period are extremely RARE and difficult to find in any condition.  There are no visible manufacturer markings or dates on the holster.  Please see photos for details and condition.
