It (Professional Baseball) all started the the organizing founders of the Cincinnati Baseball Club let the world know it was paying players to play. The "Reds" of a century ago spun a glamour no team in sports ever achieved. games. They played 69 games in 1869 and won them all, save one, which concluded with the score tied. The interest and excitement created by that famous team popularized baseball and ultimately led to the creation of the National (League).
