I AND ALBERT SOUVENIR PROGRAM 1972 London This is an unusual pop-up souvenir program. I AND ALBERT opened in London's West End in 1972 and played for 120 performances  and it marked the debut of a young Sarah Brightman. A reasonable guess would say that the truncated run is responsible for the shortage of souvenir programs. Apparently these programs are much sought-after and rarely found. The show had a notable American creative team: CHARLES STROUSE (Annie), LEE ADAMS (Bye Bye Birdie) and JAY PRESSON ALLEN (The Prime of Miss Jean Brodie). I AND ALBERT is, of course, based on the lives and legendary romance of Queen Victoria and Prince Albert. But he show didn't work 50 years ago and without some extensive rewriting is not likely to triumph on Broadway any time soon. But the souvenir program is in high demand. This particular program is bent at the lower right corner. The upper right corner has a slight three inch, hardly noticeable crease. The pop-up of Albert's Crystal Palace hasn't a flaw -- still pops right up as soon as you turn the page. In fact all internal pages are clean, intact and unmarred. It's actually kind of a neat program with lots of pictures in b/w, color and sepia. And that unusual pop-up does add a certain cachet.  9"x11"
