1894 Authentic Wildflower Stone Chromolithograph
Yellow Flag and Canada Mint
Satisfaction Guaranteed

This plate features Iris Pseudacorus (Yellow Flag) and Mentha Canadensis (Canada Mint).

This pair of illustrations is printed on medium-weight paper. The sheet size is just over 11.5" x 8", and the area within the red border of each of the two pictures is 4" x 6.25", printed with margins of 1/2" - 1.25" to allow easy matting and framing--together or separately.

On the reverse of the sheet are the common and scientific names, botanical information about the plants--including some allegorical prose, and more specifics about the flowers.

The print is a true stone chromolithograph with the distinctive saturated color and depth. It is an attractive work, with special attention to detail and accurate hue.

This is a bookplate from the 1894 first edition of: "Wild Flowers of Americaprepared by Botanical Fine Art Weekly. "Flowers of Every State in the American Union by a special corps of Artists from the United States and Europe."

I've matted and framed several of these, and they look very nice. Please check my store for other similar botanical prints perfect for framing or incorporating into other projects.

Below is a cropped view of the sheet--without full margins.
