CAN BUS Radio harness / ISO adaptor lead

For Porsche cars that do not have an ignition power supply in the factory harness. This cable is used to connect an after market radio to the original wiring harness, plug and play.

This cable is for cars originally equipped with the Porsche CDR24 or PCM 2 or 2.1 audio system. This will not work by itself on any car with a BOSE sound system, as these cars will need an additional fiber optic interface or the amplifier will need to be bypassed.

This cable includes the power and speaker supply and provides an ignition supply from the cars CAN bus data system when the key is in the accessory position and will only turn off when the key is removed from the ignition. This adapter will not retain steering wheel radio or phone control functions.

This harness does include outputs for speed pulse (required on some aftermarket radios, usually with navigation) and an amplifier turn on for cars with a non-BOSE amplifier that uses a normal speaker level audio signal from the head unit.

If in doubt, the easiest way to check if you car is fitted with a CAN bus system rather than an ignition power supply is to check if the radio only turns off when the key is removed from the ignition, rather than when the key is turned back to position 0. If it turns off only once removed the you have a CAN bus car which will need this adapter for a new after market radio. If you have a BOSE system, it is easiest to check the speaker grills, if BOSE is written anywhere in the car then you will need the additional fiber optic interface or to bypass the amplifier.

This will fit many Porsche cars built between 2004 and 2009:
Porsche 911 (997) (2004-2009)
Porsche Boxer (987) (2004-2008)
Porsche Cayman (987) (2005-2009)

Please see below for images of the original radios that this cable used to replace. Please note that some model years of these radios will differ slightly in their external design or have a black plastic front.
